Week of 10/5/2016

So this week in art class we chose a culture that we wanted to do a painting with. I chose to shadow Katsushika Hokusai. My inspiration was his Wave painting, then I changed the color scheme from blues to reds. I love mixing colors and such and so I had a lot of fun with this assignment!

Anyway, that's all for this week... Thanks for reading my blog!

Week of 9/20/2016

Hi! This week for art class we had to do an assignment inspired by Greek and Roman Clay art. We could either choose to make a pot or a clay relief. I chose a pot. I am not one who loves pottery and clay of any sort, so this wasn't my favorite assignment, but I still had some fun with it. Here is my halfway done pot.
It took me ages to get it to look like this. I am kind of a perfectionist and I had to try my best to get all the indents and stuff out. I had a hard time painting it as well since it isn't a flat surface. Here is my completed pot.

I wanted to paint it a reddish color first because I wanted it to look like the red clay that most pottery is made out of. Anyways, thanks for reading my blog!

Week of 9/15/16

Hi! This week in art class we just had a catch up week. I was all caught up so I had nothing to do. But this week as I was going through old things I had drawn, I came across this picture. I looked at one online and tried to make it my own.

It doesn't have much shading and its not very impressive. But this is an art blog. So...this is a piece of my art!
Also this week was Peach Days! It is the best. There are booths, rides, a parade. Everyone has so much fun. These people we know had a tattoo booth. So we went there and got henna tattoos! I think its so much fun. They last like 10-12 days. Here's a picture of the one I got!

That's all! Thanks so much for reading my blog!

Week of 9/7/2016

Hi! So this week in art class we learned about art history, and then had to create an art piece that they did back then. I chose to do an art piece in Ancient Egypt. It's the Pharaoh Tutankhamun's burial mask. The first picture is the picture at its halfway mark, and the second picture is the completed one.

I had a lot of fun doing these. I love painting and mixing colors, which we got to do a lot of in this assignment. Thanks for reading my blog!!

Welcome to My Blog!

Some things About Me!

Hi! My name is Amanda Keller. I am 16 years old (17 in less than a month!) and living in Box Elder County. Here is a picture of me that was taken a few days ago!

I live in a family of 7, and then a family of 4. My parents are divorced. I live with my dad, Keith, my step-mom, Stacey, and my 2 sisters. My older step-sister Maddie, 21, and my younger half-sister Megan, 10. Maddie is getting ready to head off to school. Then my older brother, Morgan, 24, is living in Ogden going to school and working, and happily married to my sister-in-law, Candi, 24. Morgan is my only full-blood brother, so at my mothers house when I see her, it is usually just me, My mom, Amie, and her husband, Craig. Sometimes Morgan would go there with me, when he was living at home. These days if I see her though, it's just the 3 of us. It's pretty complicated, I know. But I love my family and don't know what I would do without them.
Some of my passions are art, reading, and music. I actually love to draw and especially paint. I wanted to be a graphic designer for a while there, but then I realized I like doing art for me. Not in a selfish way of course! But to relieve stress and get my emotions out. This is a picture of something I painted. Ballet fascinates me, even though I don't dance. I think it is beautiful, and I wanted to paint a something that I love!

I will admit I have a few embarrassing guilty pleasures. I take full responsibility for having a HUGE crush on Justin Bieber and loving his music. Some people hate him, but you got to be real, his music has gotten SO much better since 2009. I also love, love, love G-Eazy. For those of you who don't know who he is, well... He is the single most fantastic rapper in the entire world.

G-Eazy
I also am a huge addict of The Walking Dead T.V series. It is my absolute favorite. Darrell and Glen are the best. I could binge watch that series for hours. A funny thing about me is that I like to crochet and watch The Walking Dead. My family thinks it is the funniest combination of things to do. Zombies everywhere, dying, people dying, etc. and I am sitting there crocheting a blanket for my room. But I love anything horror. Especially horror movies, they are my absolute FAVORITE. I just saw lights out, and it was pretty good. This Halloween I am going to get some people together and go to the haunted sanatorium. It's going to be great!

Anyway, that was just a little bit about me. On this blog I am expecting to post things like my art , my progress, and the process I did in creating my art and so on.  I hope you enjoy reading my blog! Thanks!
